Every day at WMTR, I do a "This Day in History" segment. And every year on this day, only one topic is covered--each year, I try to highlight a different aspect of the day. This year, I highlight this day in history for these men.
Listen today between 1:30 and 2 pm at 1250 AM or WMTRAM.com. And say a "thank you" to ironworkers today.

Hey, so YOU'RE my listeners!

Stopped by the WMTR studios today and discovered mail there for me from Mary Jane in Staten Island and John in Morris Plains. Promise, a big on-air hello to both come Monday!
This is why I'm fat.

Part of my job is to check out restaurants, eat for free, and write ad copy--on top of, of course, being the annoying voice that you hear in between the songs on the radio. Today, I went to a burger place. Not just any burger place mind you; a burger place that takes two 5 oz patties, and puts various goodies and toppings in between them. The owner, upon hearing that I am born and raised in NJ, gave me his "Jersey shore special:" two patties with Taylor ham, egg, and cheese in between:
mmmmm. Of course, that was besides all the other things the guy wanted me to try, so I only ate about 1/4 of this beast. I also picked at pasta, potato skins stuffed with grilled chicken, a chocolate lava cake with ice cream, and an authentic egg creme. I had to beg him to stop feeding me.
Dear God, I can barely breathe.
Anybody want 3/4 of a burger?

Behold, the awesomeness of...KOOL AID.

So, what sort of man would buy the Kool-Aid Reebok sneakers on clearance, and wear them to work? What sort of man would proudly wear them to go with his Reeses Peanut Butter cup T-shirt? What sort of grown man would come to work looking like he's Willy Wonka's wet dream?
...why, my boss. That's who. Check out these sneakers!

Here's me & the illustrious Bert Baron holding our NJ Ad Club awards, 1st & 2nd place. One last year, two this year. The only way to top this is a clean sweep next year.

Just got this important voicemail from a co-worker. Because radio is a very serious business.
...and a fine time was had by all!

I spent the morning and early afternoon at the Crystal Auto Mall in Greenbrook, NJ, where we gave away a car to a lucky listener today. Here's evidence of my ability to actually go outside and talk to people:
This lady was one of SIX fans who visited today, who actually used to listen to me on WMTR and now listen to me at Magic 98.3. She, in particular, stands out because she was a finalist AND she once sent me homemade fudge c/o WMTR:

This is me wishing I was actually going to win one of the cars:

Here's the entire airstaff of WMGQ. From left: Debbie Mazella, me, John Lisk, Jan Ochs, our lucky WINNER, Chris McCoy, the manager of Crystal Auto Mall, General Manager Dan Henrickson, and PD Jeff Rafter. Looking that this photo I realized that I am the shortest person on the air staff. I'm a midget!:

...of course, the auto dealership had free food everywhere so I got yet more free eats while I was there. In radio, we know how to eat.

In 12 short hours, I'll be at Crystal Auto Mall in Greenbrook NJ with the rest of the Magic 98.3 air staff, to watch someone win a car. If you live in the area, feel free to stop by and heckle me appropriately.

Yesterday started out with the usual Dining Deals fare; my brunch consisted of scallops stuffed with crab meat, served in a cognac sauce; spinach salad, and hand-made lobster ravioli made with tail meat. All very tiring, I can assure you.
Then we all went outside for "Festive Friday," had a barbeque, and played games for prizes.

Here's me and the station manager enjoying the sun.

Oh why, couldn't I have won a cruise?
Of course after all of this very hard, very stressful work I went home and needed a nap.
